Day 2, finally landed in Dublin at around 11:10 local time, 5:10 back home! As I said in the last post, I got about 2.5 hours of sleep on the plane according to my FitBit, so naturally, I was exhausted! Went through customs which was a fun new experience. The customs officer seemed very suspicious about why I was staying here for 30 days, apparently my friend who is here for 10 days only got asked how long she would be here and they let her through. I was asked why I was here, how long I was here, why I was staying here so long, if I had friends or family here, and finally what I do for work back home (apparently working for the “government” appeased his suspicions haha). After customs I waited what felt like forever for my bag to get off the plane and then I navigated the bus system to find my hotel.

I checked in to my hotel room and took a shower hoping that would help to wake me up and shake off the headache from a lack of sleep, but it didn’t really work and I ended up falling asleep around 1400 and woke up around 1930 (clearly I was wiped out!) When I woke up I realized that I of course forgot to pack deodorant, luckily there was a cute corner store one block from my hotel so I walked right down and made my very first Euro transaction! Then I went back to the hotel and realized I was starving since it had been about 12 hours since I had eaten, so I walked over to the Temple Bar quarter with the plan to eat at the Old Mill, but it was late and the bar crowd was out so after walking around for about an hour I finally went to TGI Fridays (lame for my first meal in Ireland, I know, but it was familiar and I was starving). Then I walked back to the hotel and went back to sleep!
