Day 25- Moving to Sligo and the Devil’s Chimney

|

I hung out on the Red Bus for a little bit this morning before heading up to Sligo for my final AirBnB stay of the trip! I had some time to kill so I decided to go on a little hike to a waterfall called the Devil’s Chimney. The hike was a pretty intense one and before I made it to the waterfall I received a message from my AirBnB host telling me he was going to meet me for check-in so I went to the viewing perch and then hiked back down to the car (truth be told I wasn’t super sad, because as I said, the hike was pretty intense and it was basically completely uphill!)

The AirBnB was lovely and very secluded, and my host was extremely nice. He walked me through the operation of all of the appliances and the gas heater. He told me he had been in a motorbike accident recently (and was in a cast with a back brace) I was very appreciative of how much care he took when he was clearly in pain and having some mobility issues. He also had an adorable puppy named Maya who greeted me every time I came back to the cabin. I was pretty tired from the travel and the hike so I grabbed some food staples at Tesco and then I ordered a takeaway pizza for dinner and went back to the AirBnB for the night. The only thing I wasn’t super excited about was that the bedroom was in a loft area with a ladder to get up to it (my worst nightmare if you know me) but I faced my fears and made it work! I’ll be here for two nights, more adventures are on the horizon for tomorrow!
